Groove Nocturne
Situated in the heart of Alexandra, Groove Nocturne is a refined interior centered around the ritual of vinyl. Inspired by the atmosphere of an intimate listening bar, the design balances warmth and subtlety where wood and stone textures set the stage for a more intentional way of living. The feature wall becomes both storage and statement: a curated display of records that reflects not just a collection, but a lifestyle. Every detail is designed to elevate the act of listening, transforming it into something immersive, personal, and quietly luxurious.

Continuing the tasteful material language of dark wood and stone, the resting quarters of the space carries the same spirit of intentionality. The bedroom offers a quieter expression of the project's overarching concept. Rich timber tones and clean-lined detailing create a restful atmosphere, while a custom-built headboard extends seamlessly into an integrated side table, lending both visual continuity and everyday functionality.
Rather than relying on standalone furniture pieces, the design adopts a more architectural approach, where each element is thoughtfully considered and purposefully placed. The result is a retreat that balances warmth, comfort, and understated sophistication.
A custom skylight introduces a soft wash of natural illumination, enhancing the tactile quality of the surfaces within. Muted tones and clean lines create a calming backdrop, allowing the interplay of shadow and light to define the experience. The result is a space that invites a moment to pause, reset, and unwind by elevating an everyday routine into a more restorative ritual.
Designed for both function and flow, the kitchen was reworked to better support everyday living by introducing an island that extends workspace while naturally drawing people together. Much like a bar setting, it becomes a point of interaction, whether for conversation, preparation, or decompression.
Storage is seamlessly integrated through a full-height system, ensuring the space remains visually calm despite its functionality. Clean lines and a restrained palette allow the existing materiality to shine, creating continuity across the home.
